Business Models of Digital Sharing

Maria J. Pouri will present her paper "A Typology of Digital Sharing Business Models: A Design Science Research Approach"  at the DESRIST conference in December.

The paper proposes a typology of business models in the Digital Sharing Economy (DSE) that covers a wide space of business models – even those which may not involve “business” in the commercial sense. Every business model used by online sharing platforms can be systematically located in a four-dimensional space, representing sharable resources, resource providers, resource receivers, and sharing practices. The aim of this work is to create a basis on which the sustainability of digital sharing business models can be qualitatively assessed.
