Tülin Kaman: Verena Meyer Visiting Professor at the Department of Informatics (Fall 2025 – Spring 2026)

We warmly welcome Tülin Kaman, who will be offering her lectures at the Department of Informatics starting in the fall semester of 2025.

Tülin Kaman

Through the Verena Meyer Visiting Professorship, awarded by the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics, the Department of Informatics has the opportunity to host Tülin Kaman, an outstanding researcher and inspiring role model for young academics. 

After holding positions as a Paul Scherrer Institute Fellow, a post-doctoral researcher, and lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich and the Department of Mathematics at the UZH, Tülin Kaman became an Associate Professor and Lawrence Jesser Toll Jr. Endowed Chair in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Arkansas. In 2024, Tülin joined the Collegium Helveticum, Swiss Institute for Advanced Study, at ETH Zurich as a Senior Fellow. Now, she returns to the Department of Informatics to share her expertise and passion for research.

Her research focuses on modeling and simulations of fluids, numerical methods for partial differential equations, numerical algorithms in parallel scientific computing, and uncertainty quantification.

At the Department of Informatics, Tülin will teach selected topics on Computational Science and Engineering (CSE), Programming Projects for CSE and Informatics-II on algorithms and data structures.
