Engagement Award for Nimra Ahmed
Congratulations! By public vote, Nimra Ahmed won this year’s Engagement Award at the 2026 Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics.
As PhD representative at the Department of Informatics (IfI) and as co-founder and president of the Women in Informatics Network Zurich (WINZ), PhD candidate Nimra Ahmed has demonstrated exceptional committment, empathy, and leadership.
Acting as liaison between students, teaching staff, and the department, Nimra has significantly improved the academic environment at the IfI by addressing concerns, providing mediation, and identifying and filling gaps in the social structure of the department. As president of WINZ she created a safe and inclusive space for women and marginalized groups.
