Haozhe Zhang appointed to Assistant Professorship in Singapore
We are delighted to congratulate our IfI postdoc Haozhe Zhang on his next career step: In November he will join NTU Singapore as tenure-track Assistant Professor.
Haozhe Zhang is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Data Systems and Theory Group at the Department of Informatics, working with Prof. Dan Olteanu. His research focuses on database systems, particularly query optimization, incremental view maintenance, and cardinality estimation with provable performance guarantees. During his time at UZH, he has contributed to several projects at the intersection of database theory and systems, including work that received the SIGMOD 2025 Best Paper Award.
Starting in November 2026, Haozhe will join the College of Computing and Data Science at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore as a Nanyang Assistant Professor (tenure track). At NTU, he plans to establish a research group on data systems with provable guarantees, combining database theory with practical system design to build scalable and reliable data management systems.
