Seminar: Human-Computer Interaction

Course description

This seminar will focus on selected areas in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research, such as Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), Ubiquitous Computing, and Information Visualization. The course materials will consist of current and seminal research papers in the field and represent various aspects of HCI, such as methods, design, applications, and studies.

The goal of this seminar is to gain an understanding of the broad field of HCI research, and learn what constitutes a scientific contribution within this field. Students will learn to analyze and discuss research from a critical perspective, with particular focus on the methods, design, findings, and contributions presented in scientific works.
