Christian joined the ZPAC lab as a PhD student and defended his dissertation in early 2017. His research focused on sustainability in HCI, in particular how research in HCI and Ubiquitous Computing can inform the design of consumer electronics for a more sustainable future. Following his PhD, he continued his research at ZPAC as a postdoctoral researcher. Before joining ZPAC, he graduated from the RWTH Aachen University, where his thesis work dealt with the lack of guidelines in the domain of interactive tabletops by successfully introducing an HCI design pattern language.
