🎤 WINZ Three Minute Talk (3MT) Competition
Can you explain your research in just three minutes?
The WINZ 3MT Competition challenges IFI students to present their research clearly, confidently, and engagingly to a non-specialist audience. The goal is not to oversimplify your work, but to communicate its core idea, impact, and relevance in a compelling way.
This is a space to practice science communication, gain visibility, and celebrate the exciting work happening at IFI.
👩🏽💻 Who Can Participate?
Open to:
- Bachelor’s students
- Master’s students
- Early-stage (1st Year) PhD students
📚 What Can You Present?
You can present:
- Course projects
- Ongoing Bachelor’s or Master’s theses
- Early research ideas that already include methodology and preliminary results
Projects must be at a sufficiently advanced stage so you can clearly explain:
- Your research question
- Your methodology
- At least preliminary results
Not eligible:
- Pure proposals
- Literature reviews only
- Projects where the research question is still being defined
- Commercial pitches or purely opinion-based talks
⏱ Presentation Rules
- Presentations must be exactly 3 minutes.
- A single static slide is permitted (no animations, transitions, or videos).
- No additional media, props, or performance formats (e.g. songs or raps).
- Timing starts when you begin speaking.
- Competitors may not contact judges before the competition.

- 🥇 Jury Award: CHF 100
- 🎉 Audience Award: A special prize (to be announced at the event!)
