Blockchain Platform vs. Architecture – A Cross-Case Analysis
Background & Goal of Thesis
Blockchain has moved beyond the hype cycle and early projects have reached the end of initial prototyping phase.
This thesis aims to compare and contrast the architecture and the platform blockchain projects that have moved beyond the prototyping phase and are close to market entry. More specifically, you will have access to data from blockchain projects addressing the (1) Automotive, (2) Trade-finance, and (3) Energy Ecosystem, and conduct a cross-case analysis. Additionally, you will collect public data to enrich and validate your insights.
The goal is to gain deep insights in the individual cases and abstract and generalize these insights with respect to the blockchain architecture, platform, and business model. Ideally, your contribution will be a reference-model that helps to break-down the blockchain hype and addresses questions with respect to blockchain architecture, platform and the connection to the business model.
This thesis gives you the chance to gain deep insights and access to well-established blockchain projects.
