Design Thinking and Business Innovation
Important: We are open for applications for the Design Thinking course starting in September 2017.
Each year, starting in September, IMRG offers a possibility to conduct the mandatory Master Project in collaboration with the Stanford University, University of St. Gallen and other partners from academia and industry, while approaching real world problems with the Design Thinking methodology. The goal of your project is to design a service or product prototype for a corporate partner (e.g., Audi, SAP, UBS) in the course of ten months (from September till June). You will be working in a mixed team consisting of students from participating institutes, and will be advised by an interdisciplinary teaching team from University of St. Gallen and University of Zurich.
The course has a very interactive character. You will receive regular hands-on training on methodologies applied in design thinking to pursue human-oriented innovation. Each week, you will meet all course participants (approx. 20 other students) in a slightly unorganized training and design seesion (in St. Gallen). Beyond that, each team will receive the possibility to appoint weekly meetings with coaches and receive further assistance while conducting their highly innovative projects (in St. Gallen or Zurich). Additionally, the course includes two weeklong training sessions abroad (e.g., Stanford University, California), as well as visits to the academic and industrial partners. All expenses are covered.
Please, contact Mateusz Dolata as soon as possible if you are interested in attending the course or want to get some more information. Also, do not hesitate to ask any questions regarding the course.
