Klaus R. Dittrich, former department head of the Department of Informatics, who died at the age of 56 in 2007, would have retired as an IfI professor today.

Klaus became a full professor of database technology at the department in 1989 where he founded the Database Technology Group. In 2003, he also became the head of the Department of Informatics.

Klaus was a world-famous, truly outstanding scholar and a wonderful colleague. Please join us in remembering him today.
