Natalia's work synthesizes knowledge in the area of text entry. She cataloged effect sizes from highly-cited research articles in this area and derived a «ruler» – a set of references levels of effect sizes. This effect size ruler can be used to plan future experiments with appropriate statistical power and to provide context to interpret the results from the collected data.

This work was conducted with support from Alexander Eiselmayer and Prof. Dr. Chat Wacharamanotham from the People and Computing Group (ZPAC) at the Department of Informatics.

The 2021 ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems is the premier international conference on Human-Computer Interaction. The Student Research Competition (SRC) is a forum for undergraduate and graduate students to showcase their research, exchange ideas, and improve their communication skills while competing for prizes at CHI 2021. The CHI SRC competition is a branch of the ACM Student Research Competition, which hosts similar competitions at other ACM conferences. The top three winners at CHI 2021 in each category will receive prizes of US $500, US $300, and US $200, respectively.
