Promotion of Alberto Bacchelli
As of 1 April 2026, the Board of the University of Zurich has appointed Alberto Bacchelli as Full Professor ad personam of Empirical Software Engineering. Congratulations!
Alberto Bacchelli’s research advances software engineering through empirical studies and the development of evidence-based methods and tools. His current work focuses in particular on improving software quality through better support for code review, testing, and AI-assisted software engineering.
By combining rigorous empirical research with the design of innovative tools and environments, he contributes to a deeper scientific understanding of contemporary software development and to practical support for developers and software teams.
