Department of Informatics Information Management Research Group

Dr. Tobias Giesbrecht

I joined the Information Management Research Group in September 2009 as a full time PhD student (research assistant). I commenced my undergraduate studies in mathematics at the University of Zurich and after completing my master thesis on "Prognostic tools in the field of logistics" obtained the degree of a master in the field of statistics.

In my research, I am studying face-to-face citizen advisory services in public administrations and to design appropriate IT-support. In this research field at the intersection of collaborative technologies and e-Government, I am focusing on user empowerment, i.e., how to design IT-artifacts to empower public employees to become skilled advisors on-the-job, providing improved advisory services to citizens.
