Venue and Travel Information

The Swiss RE’22 Hub will be held in Kloster Kappel, in Kappel am Albis. Here is a map.

Kloster Kappel is a former medieval monastery which has been carefully renovated and serves now as a seminar venue, featuring excellent seminar facilities and onsite accommodation. It is beautifully situated on the slopes of the Albis hills with alpine view.

We will have three seminar rooms so that attendees have the choice which of the parallel RE’22 sessions they want to follow.

A. By Public Transport

Kloster Kappel is easily reachable with public transport, which is convenient and safe.

By train: Use the SBB app or SBB web timetable for planning your trip from your place to Kappel am Albis, Kloster. Proceed as recommended. Taking a train to Baar and changing to post bus 280 there is most convenient. Buses depart in Baar from the bus terminal, platform B, on the south side of the train station. Line 280 runs once per hour at h:04. Travel time from Baar to Kappel is 10 minutes. Exit at bus stop Kappel am Albis, Kloster.

Alternatively, you can travel to Thalwil and change to post bus 240 there* (map). Buses depart on the east side of the train station. Line 240 runs once per hour at h:04. Travel time from Thalwil to Kappel is 39 min. Exit at bus stop Kappel am Albis, Kloster.

*Notes: (1) In Thalwil, the southern pedestrian bridge over the tracks is closed due to construction work. Use the underpass. (2) When arriving in Hausen am Albis, stay seated in the bus. The bus will continue as line 280 toward Baar.

Tickets: Buy a ticket from your place to Kappel am Albis, Kloster. If your favorite app only lets you by tickets to train stations, you can buy the bus ticket from the bus driver (cash required).

By air: Fly to Zurich. After arrival at Zurich Airport, follow the signs to the underground train station. Check out your next connection from Zurich Airport to Kappel am Albis, Kloster, using the SBB app or the SBB web timetable.

The best connection is Interregio train no. IR75 which runs once per hour. Timetable:

Tickets: Ticket counters and ticket vending machines in the Zurich Airport train station are located on the floor above the train tracks. Buy a ticket to Kappel am Albis, Kloster. You must have a valid ticket before boarding the train.

After arrival: Walk from the bus stop to the reception (map) (or directly to the meeting room if you arrive after 10:00).

B. By Car

Enter Uerzlikerstrasse 25, 8926 Kappel am Albis as your destination into Google Maps. Other navigation systems might not know this address, but they know Kloster Kappel, 8926 Kappel am Albis. However, they might try to direct you to the main entrance via Kappelerhof or Zur Mühle – where driving is not permitted(!) and there is no parking. Park on the guest parking lot at Uerzlikerstrasse and walk to the reception (map).

Our main meeting room is the Refectorium, which you reach from the Kreuzgang (cloister). The reception is located in the Amtshaus.  Hotel rooms will be available only after 14 h in the afternoon. You can deposit your luggage at the reception or in the meeting room.

Lunch and dinner will be in the Klosterkeller. The refreshment breaks will be in a room in the Amtshaus.
