About Me

I joined the DDIS group as a PhD student in October 2010. Before that, I have been working as a software engineer in the power trading industry for four years. In 2006 I received my diploma in informatics (specialization in information systems) from the University of Zurich. You can find more on my professional CV on LinkedIn.

When I'm not working for the university, I spend my time programming android applications, reading, traveling, running, looking after my urban rooftop "garden", or simply watching a movie with my girlfriend. I am very much interested in global politics, economics, religion, culture, and everything else that defines the future of humanity. This is also why I have a strong interest in the open government and open data movement.

Research Interests

My research interests lie in distributed processing of high volume triple streams. I'm interested in researching tools and algorithms that allow humans to make use of ever growing amounts of linked data. In particular I'm interested in systems that allow users to query streams of longitudinal graph data (read: relationships between entities that change over time).
