Professor Rolf Pfeifer, the founder and head of the department's AI Lab, has retired by July 31, 2014. The department thanks Professor Pfeifer for his engagement as an inspiring and influential researcher and academic teacher in almost 30 years at IfI. His achievements are truly outstanding.

Robotics research at IfI will be continued in Professor Davide Scaramuzza's Robotics and Perception Group. Rolf Pfeifer will continue his research on embodied artificial intelligence at institutions in China and Japan. He still can be contacted using his IfI e-mail address.
