Research and Project Focus
Jana is an interdisciplinary postdoctoral researcher in the IVDA group focusing on epistemic, ethical and humanistic approaches to visual analytics and human-AI collaboration mainly in the health and sustainability research domain. She applies methods and concepts from philosophy of science, theory of knowledge and ethics to bridge disciplines and support human-centered, responsible human-AI collaboration. Particularly, she is involved in the STAG and SDG Research Scout projects, and an international Solidera project focusing on how to bridge the epistemologies of data science with health research.
Short Bio
Jana holds a PhD from the Institute of Biomedical Ethics and History of Medicine and Digital Society Initiative (DSI) where she focused on the epistemic and ethical analysis of patients' interaction with conversational AI, with a particular focus on mental health. She is also the chair of two scientific communities the DSI-Health and Ethics Communities and collaborates with the Institute of Implementation Science in Healthcare.
