Information Systems in Organizations

Welcome!

Organizations are becoming increasingly digital, interconnected, and data-driven. Yet many fundamental questions remain: How can organizations better understand the processes through which they operate? How can data be transformed into actionable insights? And how can information systems be designed to support effective decision-making in complex environments?

The research group for Information Systems in Organizations (ISIO) addresses these questions at the intersection of business processes, information systems, and data analytics. We develop methods and technologies that help organizations understand, improve, and redesign the ways in which people, processes, and digital systems interact.

We view organizations as socio-technical systems whose success depends on the alignment of human expertise, organizational structures, and technological capabilities. By combining methods from computer science and information systems research with a deep understanding of organizational contexts, we seek to generate insights that are both scientifically novel and practically relevant.

Our vision is to contribute to the development of intelligent, adaptive, and human-centered organizations. Through research on data-driven business process management, we aim to help organizations navigate complexity, leverage data responsibly, and create sustainable value in an increasingly digital world.
