Differences as Personalization Opportunties

In this ongoing project we explore the differences in T1D self-management to understand the opportunities for personalization in T1D self-management.

Motivation: The personalization of solutions supporting people with chronic conditions is a frequently discussed topic. With the increased availability of personal health data and the use of AI, personalizing applications to account for individual self-management differences becomes feasible.

Problem: How, where and when such a personalized approach is useful in supporting chronic disease management has not yet been investigated. And questions remain on the positive or negative impact of personalization on adherence to medical guidelines.

Goal: Understanding where there is the need for personalization in T1D self-management and how technology could support that.

Approach: In this project, we will conduct a workshop with individuals with T1D, focussing on their differences in self-management practices.
