Digital Companion – Closing the Loop in Digital Health with Conversational AI

Description

The goal of project Digital Companion is to investigate how digital health can support patients with chronic conditions in adhering to their therapy plan. We aim to develop an integrated system that helps the doctors and patients collaboratively establish a treatment plan, supports the patient between consultations in adhering to such plan, and feeds back patients’ data into next consultation. The system also equips an LLM-based chatbot, which assists patients through guidance, reminders, and persuasion. The project is entering its final phase with a comprehensive evaluation, to test out the effectiveness of developed digital artifacts.

We are looking for a motivated student to assess the project progress and evaluation result as a whole package, by performing a meta-analysis. In this thesis, you will support the project team to systematize and classify processed data to provide an overview of the project achievement and identify effects and potentials to further develop the digital companion. The student is required to be fluent in (Swiss-) German, as the evaluation includes interaction with doctors and patients.
