DIZH postdoc fellowship for Liudmila Zavolokina

Liudmila Zavolokina won one of four highly competitive DIZH postdoc fellowships for her research project «Digital ecosystems for public value creation». The DIZH (Digitalization Initiative of the Zurich Higher Education Institutions) will fund her research for four years. Congratulations!
The overarching goal of Liudmila Zavolokina's project is to find out how digital ecosystems can be designed to create public value and benefit citizens, organizations, and society.
The sharing economy and online platforms are on the rise and constantly changing our daily lives. More and more products and services can be booked online via digital platforms. The most current research manifests that digital platforms should not be studied in isolation but seen as ecosystems of interconnected individuals, organizations, technologies, teaming up to create shared value. This perspective provides a holistic understanding of the issues, possible solutions and implications for further design of such ecosystems. Many questions remain open regarding the design, governance, use, and effects of such digital ecosystems in various domains such as healthcare, public services and smart city.
For researchers, this project will shed light on theoretical perspectives of design and use of digital ecosystems and their value for public organizations, public-private collaborations, and citizens. For practitioners, this project will open an avenue to implement such ecosystems and will drive digitalization.
