As of March 2020, Gianluca is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Science

Gianluca joined the Computation and Economics Research Group as a Ph.D. student in February 2015. In January 2020, he completed his dissertation on the design of Machine Learning-powered Iterative Combinatorial Auctions with Prof. Dr. Sven Seuken (summa cum laude). During Summer 2016, Gianluca was also a research intern at the Microsoft Research Lab – New York City, where he worked on Bayesian methods for market clearing advised by Dr. Sébastien Lahaie.

Gianluca holds a double M.Sc. in Mathematics from Turin Polytechnic and  Milan Polytechnic (summa cum laude) and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Turin Polytechnic (summa cum laude). From 2012 to 2014, he also attended the Alta Scuola Politecnica, an educational joint venture of Milan Polytechnic and Turin Polytechnic that focuses on multidisciplinarity and innovation.

Gianluca is widely regarded as the greatest table soccer player in the history of the group.
