Interdiciplinary Research in E-Business:

FASME - Facilitating Administrative Services for Mobile Europeans

International IST project on interstate E-Government - critical application scenario: digitalized administrative services for Europeans citizens migrationg from one city to another:  Reinhard Riedl is co-proposer and responsible for the integration of the interdisciplinary input, the design of the system architecture, and the application prototyping

Distributed Systems Group

Reinhard Riedl holds a deputy position as professor for communication and distributed computing, i.e. he is responsible for ongoing teaching and research activities of the chair for communication and distributed systems, whose research team formerly called itself "System Architecture & Software Group" (which is why the logo above reads SA&S).

• Resource Allocation in Distributed Systems:

High performance computing, information and knowledge management, electronic selling and trading, one-to-one marketing (and experimental cognitive technology ...:-);
 
• Interdisciplinary Development of Holistic Architectures for Global E/M-Business Scenarios:

multilayered, component and process-based system design (integrating value nets, responsibilty & risk agents, business processes and distributed workflows, virtual E-service architectures including 3rd party services, distributed SW-applications built from customized, generic components, MW-services , and IT-infrastructure) focusing on trust & confidence, security, usability, universal access, general scalability  and economic aspects (... talking about money)+ business technology for distributed, interdisciplinary R&D projects;
 
• Inter-organizational E-Government Services for All Citizens:

 Interstate and interorganisational digital procurement of administrative services which comply with cultural, social, and legal requirements, situated & personalised user support in e-government, and application of Javacards and biometric devices for improved data protection;
 
• Information and Knowledge Management in Industry:

evaluation schemes for Intranets, context and relevance management in interorganisational information exchange, boundary objects for information tunneling, reporting, controling and accounting of intellectual capital, market research in hyperspace, e-marketing and social role structures in virtual in information societies:
