if i take words from someone else’s private or semi-private communication, and it seems like there is a chance they might want it attributed to them, i put “AnonymousFriend”. I didn’t put the person’s name because i don’t want to reveal something they said in private without permission. If you see something you said posted anywhere on this wiki, whether or not it is signed AnonymousFriend, feel free to add your name if you want.
Of course if i thought the person wouldn’t want their words publically displayed at all i didn’t post them.
there are some occassions in which i posted other people’s wording without tagging it AnonymousFriend, for instance, some of the descriptions on NeuroBooks. I felt there was little chance anyone would care to have their name attached to these short descriptions.
In the spirit of Wiki (see Wiki:DocumentMode), I encourage people to leave contributions unsigned unless the contribution is sort of a discussion post. For example, if you decide to add a definition or other general, objective information to the page OgliodendroCyte?? on this wiki, i would encourage you to leave the contribution unsigned, as who you are isn’t really important to the reader. However, if you are stating an opinion, a random thought, or a cool idea, go ahead and put your name.
