Current Research Projects

Design and implementation of an advanced PerformanceRubette for Rubato, including gestrual and sound color-oriented performance specifications (extending the present PerformanceRubette which performs only pitch, onset, loudness, duration, crescendi, and glissandi).
Design and implementation of RMI-based denotator communication protocols for data exchange between Rubettes (=Rubato modules).
Development of denotator-based 3D environment on Java 3D for visualization, navigation, and interaction on data bases of music objects within the distributed Rubato platform form music research.
Prediatces are given by their extensions on denotator spaces, however, the research is driven by generalized truth domains from topos theory, including fuzzy and Heyting logics. The research is basic for Goller's and Milmeister's PhD theses.
Implementation of a Rubato-module for calculation and visualization of performance vector fields of MIDI-recordings of music performances.
Design and Implementation of a Java-class library for logical and geometric operators (a better concept for constraint programming...) on denotators as a framework supporting the calculation tasks of specialized Rubettes on Rubato.
Design and implementation of a WebObject/Java-based application for a virtual institute for music science, according to concepts elaborated by the ifm association. This work is accomplished, a loading of the framework with contents from music science is pending.
This book project is the overall presentation of mathematical music theory and music informatics which the author has conducted in the last 20 years, it will be published with Birkhäuser, Basel/Boston an extends to 1200 pages, it is an updated and english version of the author's "Geometrie der Töne" (1990).
