Christian Stern, Department of Computer Science, MultiMedia Laboratory, University of Zurich
Erich Stoll, Physics-Institute, University of Zurich
Key Features of this Filtering Algorithm
- Suppresses noise and amplifies anatomical information
- Provides improved visual quality for the analysis of Multiplanar Reformatted (MPR) Images in Z-direction
- Allows a better perception and understanding of volumetric image datasets
- Generates smoother 3D surface models with less polygons when used as input of the Marching Cube algorithm
Examples
1. Human Head (MPR images): after (a) and before (b) filtering
2.1 Human Head (Volume Rendered cross-sectional MR Images): Before Filtering
Sample #1 Select different view (high resolution)
Sample #2 Select different view
2.2 Human Head (Volume Rendered cross-sectional MR Images): After Filtering
Sample #3 Select different view (high resolution)
Sample #4 Select different view
