I am currently a senior research assistant at the AI Lab, University of Zurich. Prof. Rolf Pfeifer is head of the AI Lab and our main research goals are autonomous agents and situated design. Recently, our research activities also include soft agents. To see who is involved in which project, please visit our staff website.

My main research focuses on soft computing methods in the context of autonomous agents. Among other things, soft computing methods compris neural networks, evolutionary algorithms, and fuzzy logic/control. These methods are widely believed to solve certain problems present in classical AI. By using soft computing methods, I am mostly interested in learning and self-organization.

In addition to my research and general interests in movies and music, I spend my spare time playing Badminton, windsurfing, playing volleyball, white water kayaking, and repairing my old VW bus.
