From 1997-2003, Uta was a research associate working in the Requirements Engineering Research Group at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Zurich.

She worked in the project Attempto Controlled English (ACE) as a Specification Language. My main research interests are formal and computational semantics, plural semantics, controlled natural languages and logic programming. For my Ph.D., I developed strategies to disambiguate, represent and reason with plurals in natural language understanding applications. These strategies are applied in the Attempto system.
