Post-fossil cities project
In order to successfully implement the Agenda 2030 and the climate protection targets of the Paris Agreement, a massive conversion of urban space infrastructure is needed. The post-fossil cities project makes it possible for relevant players to experience the necessary processes in a computer supported simulation game. Besides the project coordination, Andreas focuses on the game developing part of the project.
Andreas grew up on a farm in Switzerland and studied Agroecosystem Sciences at ETH Zurich. During and after his studies he worked in several organizations related to agriculture in the domains of sustainable, strategic and economic development (e.g. BO Milch, Helvetas, Flury&Giuliani GmbH). In 2012 he started with his PhD at the University of Bergen in Norway where he applied a systems approach (System Dynamics) to the case of maize production in Zambia. As part of his studies, he developed and facilitated a simulation game to collect and analyze decision data of African smallholder farmers.
