Vlad Coroama is a consulting scientist to the Informatics and Sustainability Research group. He holds a computer science MSc degree from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, and a PhD from the ETH Zurich, Switzerland. For more than a decade, his research revolved around the relation between Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and sustainability. In recent years, he focused exclusively on the environmental dimension of sustainability.
Vlad joined forces with Prof. Lorenz Hilty in 2009-2010, when he was in charge of the former “Informatics and Sustainability” group within Empa’s “Technology and Society Lab” lead by Prof. Hilty. Their ongoing scientific collaboration resulted in several studies and articles on the environmental impact assessment of ICT in general and the Internet in particular.
