28.08.2017Simulating the Post-fossil Swiss City

The ISR group and Empa’s Technology and Society Lab will work together on CAPATHITY (Constraint-aware PATHways to the post-fossil Swiss cITY), a project of the National Research Programme “Sustainable Economy” (NRP 73).

The project aims to provide both visionary and realistic pathways to reach a post-fossil economy during this century for the case of the Swiss City. Core task of the project is the design of a simulation game enabling stakeholders to identify trajectories towards possible manifestations of the Swiss City in 2050. The simulation game will be based on a model of materials, technology, natural environment and societal constraints.
